Massage Therapy
For the fitness of active people, Sports Massage Therapy is the
practical application of kinesiology done in a series of compression and
cross fiber techniques to keep the athlete's body in prime working
condition. Sports Massage Therapy can be classified into three areas: maintenance,
event and rehabilitation.
- Maintenance massage helps the athlete reach
and maintain peak performance through injury-free training.
Maintenance massage increases endurance and greater flexibility
while preventing athletic slumps.
- Event massage takes place before, during
and/or after competition to supplement an athlete's warm-up,
readying the athlete for top performance. Event massage helps reduce
muscle spasms and metabolic build-up that occur with vigorous
exercise. These techniques of event massage enhance the body's
recovery process, promotes faster healing of injuries, improves the
athlete's return to high-level training and competition, and reduces
the risk of injury.
- Rehabilitation massage techniques
effectively manage both acute and chronic injuries.
